Samsung D900 review: Slim slider extreme

Samsung D900 review: Slim slider extreme - read the full textThe slimmest slider in the world already on the market. Samsung D900 (12.9 mm thick when closed) offers almost maximum equipment. It has also been given a special final touch: a 3 megapixel camera and a superb display. Now try to imagine it all in a stylish sliding body. The price, however, is rather high.

There is a way to set ringtones... you just have to go to "Menu"... then "Music"... then choose where you want the music from... then pick the song and select "Options"... then "Set as"... then "Ringtone" or "Caller Ringtone" and select the person if you want to personalise each person.

Had the phone for 2 wks and it has been a perfect 2 wks! nothing can go wrong with this phone. Another useful feature of "Living World" is the intensity of the clouds which shows how strong/weak the signal to the phone is. The stronger the signal, the clearer the sky. A weak signal will produce a very couldy sky.

And I also agree that the review of the Samsung D900 is VERY biased.

samsung phones are very powerful but fun to have and because of these, samsung phones are the envy of the gsm arena reviewers, nokia users and SE users.

this is an amazing piece of technology. its just a great handset. Sturdy, reliable, sleek, light and feels expensive despite the fact its made of plastic. wonderful features such as easy and logical menu layout. I love the rich coloured LCD display. I'm not bothered about how many pixels it has because it's only a phone. To be honest i would'nt even care if it had no camera. maybe it would be a bit thinner

I own this phone since almost 2 months now. And it has been fantastic so far. Just the dream phone to have.

I dont understand why Gsmarena has always liked Nokia's or SE's and not Samsung's. Gsmarena has forgot ( or delibrately ) to mention about the Great Feature this beauty has that is called " Living World Feature " The wallpaper changes according to the Time and the Place. ( country ) Plus it shows you by the graphics if you have missed a call or message. I mean no other Phone has this Feature and you just cant forget to mention about this Feature in your review.

Plus there are quite a few features like SOS Messages, how volume key can be used as a reject for any call and send the TEXT directly, inbuilt Answering Machine, Conversation Recorder ( depends on the Firmware ), etc. been forgotten....!!! I mean I dont understand howcome these Features havnt been mentioned.

And no. of disadvantages given to this phone is amazing...I wonder howcome Nokia's or SE's dont get huge no. of disadvantages... even if they actually do have some of them.

I am not satisfied with this review of gsmarena.

I have yet to buy this phone, but have fallen for it. The price is rather high, so am having second thoughts. Will someone please tell me if anyone has had any problems with the sliding mechanism?
It is a BEAUTIFUL phone, and my friends are discouraging me from buying it as it does not have 3G and because Nokia phones sound quality is better, but I am still undecided. Will someone please tell me about the sliding mechanism and the sound clarity.
thanks

No java games transfers via bluetooth and limited sms melodys. Samsung will never learn...

just got my D900. its absolutely fabulous PHONE! after i saw pics from this review, i found some differences. There is no "RED & GREEN" call and end button in this review. also the "SAMSUNG" logo at the back is different from my D900. I can't find silver logo on my phone. its hard to tell by just looking @ the picture, but the plastic material looks little bit diffrent too. Probably its not a finished product.

take a look @ this video review from phonearena.com. you'll also find the differences:

I dont see how the sample photos can "hardly compete with the images created by today's best photo mobiles on the market". They look very good to me.

Also no 3G isnt a bad thing ... There are people who dont need or dont want it ( like me ), so why is this bad?

In my opinion only bad thing is that it doesnt have FM-radio. If it had it would be perfect

Just another poitn about this phone. Loudspeaker? there isn't one. I had this phone and had to take it back because i couldn't hear music in the silence of my living room. I even had to raise the handset to my ear to actually hear any of the music elements.

All the ultra range of Samungs phones have the same problem. They all do not have a loudspeaker. The sound comes out of the earpiece. How anyone could say they can hear this in a crowd is beyond me.

Cheap looking plastic?? U must be joking! It's exactly like D600! Dude, when u test a phone and write a review about it, test a REAL PHONE, and not a TOY or a PROTOTYPE! And u CAN view any video in full screen! Any child knows that about any Samsung phone! I think this site wants to give a bad image to Samsung phones. Very very bad and disapointing..AND MAD!
Sorry 4 my english again :)

Moreover, the 'cheap looking' plastic was only used on prototypes like the one on the photos (grey color). The production D900s are totally black and feature 'soft feel' material, like D600.

yap, I think the reviewer has omitted or failed to mention some important functions such as viewing the videos in full screen but mentioned some main disadvantage which is I think is an advantage to some people.

the reviewer also do not have the idea that the z710 or z720 and P850 are on the league of the best 3 mega pixels on the market today. Both z710 and z720 are 3G.
