With the Galaxy S26 series launch behind its back, Samsung is turning its attention to the next generation of foldables. While work on those proceeds, details on the two battery cells for the Galaxy Z Flip8 have surfaced and they bring bad news for anyone hoping for an upgrade.
The two cells, EB-BF776 and EB-BF777, have rated capacities of 1,150mAh and 3,024mAh, respectively. This adds up to 4,174mAh. Last year’s Galaxy Z Flip7 had exactly the same rated capacity, though the split was slightly different – 1,189mAh and 2,985mAh.

Either way, we expect that the Z Flip8 will be marketed as having a battery with a typical capacity of 4,300mAh, the same as its predecessor. Note that the difference is to account for manufacturing variability – the rated capacity is the absolute minimum, while the typical capacity is what to expect on average.
Rumor has it that Samsung expects the Z Fold8 to outsell the Z Flip8, which will be the first time a Fold has been more popular than the Flip. The third foldable this year probably won’t be another Z Flip FE but a wide Z Fold instead, so Samsung will be leaning towards book-style foldables.

Anyway, back to the Galaxy Z Flip8 and to reasons it might not sell so well – a) it’s not getting a battery upgrade and b) it’s not getting a camera upgrade either. According to leaked specs, it will have a 50+12MP dual camera on the outside and a 10MP selfie camera inside. In other words, the same camera setup as the Z Flip7 and Z Flip6. The Flips are getting the Galaxy S treatment, huh?

Huawei controls 70% of the foldable market in China. Despite all the innovation from their regional competitors. What other daring plans do you have going forward? Running green lights?
Isn't that what being a influencer is all about. Look at those people at Dubai right now crying wolf. Few weeks ago it was the best and safest place in earth. Paradise! Why would one ever want to get out of Paradise tho??
Samsung and apple are recycling and renaming the same product year in year out. The only companies trying to innovate are the Chinese. I am going Huawei this year. Bye.
